Third- Sixth class pupils take part in the Languages Connect Programme. The languages Connect programme allows pupils to learn a foreign language for 8 weeks. In Our Lady’s School, we are so lucky to have the expertise of our EAL teacher, Ms.Garazi Aizpeolea, who is a native Spanish speaker.

The aims of the Languages Connect Programme are to:

• Generate awareness among pupils of the range of languages used by their peers, in Our Lady’s School, which may help support greater inclusion and appreciation of diversity our school.
• Encourage uptake of languages at post-primary level.
• Provide opportunities for increased levels of collaboration among the school community with regard to the celebration of languages and cultures.
• Support implementation of Languages Connect, Ireland’s Strategy for Foreign Languages in Education 2017–2026.
